A day in the life:
Manage design, pre-bid and pre-construction meetings. Meet with contractors and consultants regularly to plan work and resolve project issues.
Ensure affected parties, including business and property owners, elected officials and the media are advised on the effects of construction work.
Apply engineering experience to identify innovative solutions to issues during the execution of the contract.
Ensure contract deliverables are on time and designed within agreed upon specifications.
Direct and assist staff in reviewing contractor project schedules, staging plans, traffic control plans and other required submittals to ensure they meet contract requirements and restrictions.
Recognize and act promptly on potential changes or work added to contracts.
Conduct site visits to examine construction conditions and any project issues. This may involve exposure to traffic, construction and weather-related hazards.
Plan, prepare, analyze, document and manage the project manager’s office fiscal budgets and cash flow for total workforce, facilities, vehicles, equipment, training, travel, and other resources.
Plan, prepare and document plan for workforce balancing, make adjustments as needed to ensure project delivery. Fill vacancies on crew.
Assign, schedule, direct, supervise, review and accept the work of ODOT construction and survey staff.
Represent management in the development of outsourcing contracts for complex highway construction projects.
Participate in the vendor selection process.

What we need:
A valid Oregon Professional Engineer's (PE) license in Civil, Structural, or Transportation-related engineering and three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience.
NOTE: If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain comity within six months of hire.
Additionally, driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
