The Abram Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with Buildings experience (HVAC design, inspection & forensics) and an E.I. or P.E. certification with approximately 2 – 15 years of experience to join one of South Florida's fastest growing Consulting, Engineering & Inspection Design firms at their rapidly growing location in West Palm Beach, FL. This is for one of South Florida's premier Engineering firms and rated by ENR as one of the nation's Top 400 Engineering Design Firms for 2018. This is for their Orlando, FL office location.

As a leader in consulting, engineering, and inspection services, our client specializes in highly technical buildings and the systems that bring them to life. Our client's core business is performing MEP, Structural, and Building Envelope Inspections, Property Condition Assessments, Turnover Reports, Litigation Reports on buildings themselves. The areas of the building to be examined are the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems, Structural support (concrete, steel beams etc.) and the Building Envelope (siding, interior/exterior walls, insulation, stucco, windows, glass/glazing, curtainwall, roofs.) This work is performed by a multitude of high-level E.I.'s and P.E.'s with Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Building Envelope backgrounds. This position is for a new member of their growing Mechanical Engineering team.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare detailed written reports of performed field observations identifying any deviation and non-conformance with applicable codes and standards.
Perform mechanical HVAC inspections, property condition assessments, turnover reports, litigation reports as well as ME design for new and rehabilitation projects
Prepare drawings, specifications, cost estimates, project schedules and other work for conformance with established and applicable codes and standards.
Perform field observations of construction projects to monitor progress.
Provides technical and professional guidance to staff, work crews, consultants and others related to code interpretation, material standards, design and engineering drawings, specifications, plan interpretations, installation procedures and construction methods.
Travel to work sites of assigned engineering projects; note work progress and possible problem areas; report findings to supervisory staff as necessary; resolve project problems by reviewing and commenting on proposed modifications of design, construction change orders and related methods.
Attend and serve as staff/representative for pre-design, pre-bid and pre-construction meetings.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

E.I. or P.E. certification is a must-have.
Ideally a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/HVAC Engineering.
Valid State Driver's license
Working knowledge of building and energy codes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present design information to clients.
Budget preparation and control, engineering project management change order evaluation, interpreting and applying Codes, Laws, and Regulations.
Customer service, verbal and written communication, organization, problem-solving, self-starter, flexible, team player.
