To provide repair and maintenance support to the 800 MHz public safety ARMER radio system. To develop implementation plans / processes for updates and maintenance of existing systems and expansion of new integrated systems. . This position also provides technical expertise in testing and evaluation services to State of Minnesota agencies, statewide area ARMER system partner agencies and other contracted agencies. This position will be participating in the monitoring of the ARMER radio system at the Radio Operations Center (ROC). This incumbent in this position will be working various shifts at the ROC.

**Shift work/weekend work shall apply. This position will be located out of the Metro Roseville office. The person will start working the day shift until he/she are trained in. Once trained in, the position will start the 24/7 operation shift work/weekend work/rotating.

Once trained properly, the work schedule would be: work Three days a week and one eight hour shift every two weeks, employee will choose when to work this shift. The shifts are 12hrs, 6:00am – 6:00pm or 6:00pm – 6:00am. Currently you would work every third weekend. Trading of shifts is allowed.

Rotations last for 6 weeks. Shift differential applies for night work.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Two or more years of recent advanced technical working experience (within the last four years) supporting a regional or large scale radio communications system with responsibility for installation, repair, and implementation of a variety of radio communications equipment;

AND

Demonstrated advanced technical experience working on IP based Networks.
Experience working with switches and routers.
Experience with transport, DS3, T-1, OC3, using Microwave backhaul.
Hold an FCC General Class Radio Telephone License or equivalent; or obtain within one year of hire.
