The major role of this position is to provide technical coordination and support in the operating and capital expense management processes by initiating and running projects using the capital expense (CAPEX) project process, and equipment monitoring, stabilization and improvements
Qualifications for this position include a four year college degree in Engineering or Material Science ideally combined with up to 3 to 5 years of industrial experience. The incumbent should have a basic knowledge of engineering and construction techniques used in designing and constructing projects. Successful candidate must be able to apply engineering fundamentals to the continuous improvement efforts of CAPEX and the production process.
Provide preliminary engineering services for department projects and cost justification.
Prepare budgets, schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), Proposed Authorization of Investment (PAI), Preliminary Studies, and Technical Studies for accurate and efficient design, purchase, installation and operation of the equipment.
Coordinate the implementation of capital investment projects, while managing the approved budgets & schedules.
Collect, correlate, and report project update information/data for their assigned projects.
Review, develop, and improve operation procedures and train personnel in operations improvements, as they pertain to new equipment.
Assist in solving production/maintenance anomalies in the operations process.
Assist with and participate in improvement activities.
Facilitate training sessions for all employees on the engineering changes and processes.
Assist with safety/production/maintenance improvements, via in house design processes using SolidWorks/AutoCAD software.
- This is a permanent full-time Monday to Friday position, with occassional weekends
