This position is located in the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority,
Engineering Division.
The Engineer 6 DCL position performs functions essential to implementing the agency's coastal restoration and flood protection program. This position serves as high-level technical expert in the CPRA Engineering Division with preference pertaining to a Civil Engineering background. The incumbent of this position employs experience and technical expertise to plan, develop, design, coordinate and/or direct a number of complex, large-scale restoration and flood protection projects or programs. Projects of particular significance that this incumbent will provide technical assistance and expertise toward are projects funded from the DWH Oil spill, GOMESA, and other complex restoration and flood protection projects.
Supplemental Qualifications - Applicant must have at least 6 years of experience in:
technical expertise of Engineering Scopes of Work, Cost Estimating, Computing Earthen and Hydraulic Fill Volumes, Preparing Design Reports/Technical Presentations Geotechnical Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, and, Preparing/Interpreting Bid Documents.
The maximum salary for the Engineer 6-DCL is $135,034 annually. The Special Entrance Rate (SER) for the Engineer 6 position is $3,316.00 bi-weekly.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering and six years of professional engineering experience.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience. A Ph.D. in engineering will substitute for two years of the required experience.
Advanced degrees will substitute for a maximum of two years of required experience.
NOTE: This job is designated a Dual Career Ladder job as defined in State Civil Service Rule 1.14.1.1, requiring the possession of advanced, specialized skills that may vary by position. Any required supplemental qualifications will be posted for the specific vacancy.
NOTE: Engineering experience gained prior to earning a professional engineer's license (e.g., as an engineer intern applicant, engineer intern, or equivalent) will be accepted as professional level engineering experience.
