Tradesmen International is now hiring for a Chemical Operator who will assist the production team by cleaning, preparing and monitoring the mixing machines used to mix and process chemicals. They mix and handle chemicals, record information and observations relating to the mixing process, troubleshoot issues with equipment, and assist in process improvement initiatives and the work plan development process.
Essential Functions/Major Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure the Daily Ratio is within specification before Start up.
Storing, retrieving, mixing, and monitoring chemicals used in the production process.
Follow all standard operating procedure and work instructions.
Complete daily Start-up/Shutdown Procedure check sheet.
If needed covers Line workers for breaks
Monitor all chemical inventory.
Ensure 100% accuracy of reporting.
Work with the Molding cell leader and production planner on daily production planning.
Accurate recording of chemical information; such as batch and lot numbers, weights, production dates, expiration dates and inputting into database.
Preventative maintenance scheduled by the Production Floor Supervisor daily, weekly, monthly
Communicate Quality issues to the process Engineer, Cell leader and Production Floor supervisor.
Ensure compliancy to applicable safety regulations and Company safety policies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work :
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 40 hours per week.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to handle tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required which include but are not limited to:
High school diploma or GED required
2 + years of manufacturing experience preferred
Basic computer skills
Experience in Microsoft Excel
