As a Senior Test Engineer at Octo, you will join an Agile team responsible for ensuring quality products through manual testing methods to support a GSA application development project. The candidate will support the project effort in all aspects of user story development, reviews, implementation, and production support with a focus on system testing/verification and quality assurance.

You will be part of a project that will modernize a legacy mainframe supply chain system to use modern cloud-native server less infrastructure.
Collaborate with the Business Analysts, Developers and Stakeholders to coordinate the development, tracking, resolution, and reporting of test defects per test environments as well as support production test efforts.
Automate test scripts using tools like Selenium IDE/TestNG, Apache Jmeter, and Postman so they can quickly be referenced and re-executed with minimal human intervention.
Take on a leadership role to identify test scenarios and create test plans based on business requirements discussed in Sprint planning and Backlog grooming and work with the BA and Scrum Master(s).
Collaborate with other QA/Test Engineers to enhance and adhere to QA procedures/prosses and metrics to assess the quality of the delivered application software.
Perform all aspects of system verification, including all phases of the testing process. Support test planning, test design, test procedures, test scripts, test execution, and test evaluation.
Report, troubleshoot, and mitigate issues to senior project leaders, suggesting fixes where applicable and tracking issues through mitigation.
Ensure identified defects are linked to related test cases and applicable JIRA User Stories.
Liaise with the development teams and business analyst(s) on testing discrepancies identified.
Demonstrate work produced to internal team members and the client
Participate in all Agile ceremonies (ex: planning, retrospectives, demos, grooming and daily stand ups)
Review and update system and sprint artifacts such as user stories, design documents, user guides, test cases, test plans, test reports, etc.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently to ensure work is completed on time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven expertise in executing test plans, documenting results, generating test reports, and data generation.
Must have the ability to understand integration points between functionalities and form a ‘big picture’ view of testing needs.
Experience with a variety of testing methodologies, Functional, Non-Functional, Performance, Security, etc.
Hands on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI/Postman, Cucumber, Apache Jmeter
Must have experience testing SOAP and REST APIs
Working Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
Years of Experience: 10+ years of web application and web service testing experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
