Looking for an analyst with hands-on expertise in the design, build, implementation, support of Meditech Lab Modules. Strong knowledge of the Laboratory Billing/Compliance/Regulatory agency requirements. Ability to take initiative and able to work without direct supervision.
The LIS Technical Specialist participates in the evaluation, design, implementation, QA, documentation, maintenance, and support of the Laboratory department's web/client server software applications and various Carle enterprise-wide systems. Serves as a liaison between vendors, IT personnel, and other application analysts, management and end users to resolve questions related to system functionality and design. Develops standard and customized application reports. Performs team and integrated testing for all functionality of applications and their interfaces. Functions as a resource for users in the development of time saving processes or new features.
Bachelors Clinical Laboratory Sciences OR Bachelors Computer Information Systems OR or Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and two (2) years of Laboratory experience is valid substitute for a bachelor's degree. OR Associate's degree and two (2) years programmer/database/query language software experience is a valid substitution for a bachelor's degree. OR High School equivalent and three (3) years of programmer/database specialist experience is valid substitution for bachelor's degree.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Clinical Laboratory Sciences OR Computer Information Systems. Specialists are required to obtain position relevant SCC Systems Application training. New version training must be kept current.
Three (3) Computers/Information Technology - Programmer/Analyst OR Two (2) Laboratory. Experience with Relational Database Management Systems like Oracle, query languages like SQL, standard programming language middleware like ODBC, and design and report generating programs like Crystal Reports - a plus.
Effective communication skills with internal and external customers, ability to function well in stressful situations, ability to function well as part of a team, and the ability to resolve routine to complex problems by following departmental procedures.
Participates in the build, installation, implementation, testing, validation, monitoring and maintenance of application software/interfaces.
Applies and maintains standards/regulatory requirements (including but not limited to CLIA, CAP, DNV, CMS) to system design. Makes recommendations that are in line with and support best practices.
Acts as a resource and mentor to others.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and remedies system software/hardware problems. Coordinates problem resolution with internal and external technical support personnel.
Assists both internal and external customers in finding solutions to their needs related to the LIS, instrumentation and interfacing with enterprise wide applications. Recommends process/procedural changes based on application functionality. Coordinates with key user representatives to develop project task plans, timelines and schedules.
