ABB / Baldor is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - NEMA for its Fort Smith, AR location. You will be responsible to design industrial electric motors utilizing AutoCAD, SAP and numerous other design tools. Work on a design team with 10 - 15 members.
Process custom orders and engineering change requests for industrial electric motors.
Design and develop new parts/components for electric motors, such as endplates, fans, frames, conduit boxes and sheet metal parts.
Create and maintain drawings and bills of material utilizing AutoCAD, Solid Works 3D and SAP.
Manage projects to reduce cost and assure quality of new and existing designs.
Provide Sales, Manufacturing and Purchasing support.
Provide failure analysis and corrective action for such items as bearings and shafts.
Manage own time and work activity while handling multiple projects and tasks.
Work effectively in a team oriented environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering completed by June 2020.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
Electric motor experience.
AutoCAD and/or Solid Works experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Dependable, professional work ethic and team player.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced work environment.
