BWO is seeking an Environmental Engineer to provide expert technical skills and strong leadership in environmental compliance activities at its North Salt Lake Refinery.
Support the development and implementation of plans to achieve and maintain compliance with all State and Federal environmental laws and regulations applicable to Refinery operations.
Track daily performance of all Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) throughout the facility. Develop and implement efficient methods of data acquisition and management.
Coordinate and supervise CEMS Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) and other stack testing requirements.
Calculate daily emission levels under the State Implementation Plan and Title V Operating Permit.
Support the environmental team with preparation and submittal of all required reports to UDEQ and EPA, including but not limited to quarterly State Electronic Data Reports, Annual Emissions Inventory, New Source Performance Standards, Maximum Achievable Control Technology), Greenhouse Gas Reports, notifications, and Refinery Sector Rule reports. Fenceline monitoring and LDAR field work may be required.
Assist with the preparation and submittal of air permit application(s) for new or modified equipment.
Assist with waste reporting, sampling, and inspections. Coordinate with shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
Coordinate with maintenance in creating and follow-through with work-orders.
Willing to support the Lab and Process Engineers with various projects as needed.
Work proactively with unit supervisors, engineers, and maintenance personnel to address and resolve issues affecting emissions performance, including process unit upsets, equipment failure, and monitor malfunctions.
Other areas as needed.
BS or higher degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Knowledge or experience in environmental or process engineering at a petroleum refinery or petrochemical plant, including relevant consulting experience a plus.
Good interpersonal skills. Able to work cooperatively and productively within the Environmental Team and with all other Technical, Operations, Maintenance and Management personnel. Able to interact with environmental regulators and inspectors in a courteous and professional manner.
