Quest Integrity, a global leader in inspection and engineering services is seeking an Engineer I who will be responsible for supporting client projects involving the application of computational mechanics, finite element analysis, and other forms of fitness-for-service evaluations. The Engineer I is primarily responsible for technical execution of projects, with a secondary focus on advancing skills for business development.
This position will be based in our Gold Coast (AUS) or Wellington (NZ) office for a period of 1 to 2 years before permanent placement in Boulder, CO.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute technical work to assist Advanced Engineering in delivering fitness-for-service and computational mechanics projects based on company’s current services including stress analysis, fitness-for-service, risk and asset integrity management relating to power, process, and pipeline industries.
Develop new and innovative methods for increased efficiency of projects.
Work with and support other engineers with larger group projects and provide technical execution and creative solution methodologies for efficient task delegation.
Respond to client inquiries, helping to develop and document project work scope and pricing to generate proposals.
Approximate time on technical execution at 85%.
Provide innovative and creative input on overall business development with an emphasis on developing specific ideas for business growth.
Write, review, and contribute to technical papers/presentations and articles.
Present capabilities at conferences and seminars as agreed with team manager.
Develop and test in-house and commercial software tools to support the consulting business.
Performance of other job duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:
Requires BS or MS in related engineering field.
Must possess a basic understanding of engineering principles with the goal to grow personal expertise in a manner that benefits the group as a whole.
Must possess extraordinary problem solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills, both oral and written.
Requires exceptional leadership skills while developing and sharing creative solutions to problems with less experienced colleagues including providing direct training on advanced engineering tasks.
Must have experience with geometry and mesh generation methods and tools (Abaqus CAE, Solidworks, ANSYS, FEMAP, etc.).
Must have experience with on-site data collection.
Requires prior experience using Microsoft Office and some programming skills.
Strong organizational, accounting, and mathematical skills required.
Moderate travel, both domestically and internationally at approximately 30%.
Must be able to think creatively, conduct oneself with diplomacy and maintain confidentiality.
Must be willing to work effectively in a team.
