We are looking for an enthusiastic associate dam engineer to work as part of a dams engineering team in our Germantown, Maryland office. This position will support ongoing dams engineering projects across the Southeast region, nationally and around the world.
+ Providing technical support to dams’ project managers, including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams. Includes:
+ _Technical investigations_
+ _Dam construction oversight_
+ _Dam analysis and design_
+ Under supervision of professional or experienced engineers, makes technical selections/decisions and thinks independently to complete assigned work.
+ Prepares drawings and visual aids through coordination with CAD team.
+ Conducts quantity calculations, prepares reports, and creates report figures.
+ Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
+ Responsible for quality control of small tasks or segments of larger projects.
+ Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time.
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering required.
+ Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
+ 2+ years of relevant experience with dams projects, including rehabilitation and/or new design and construction required.
+ Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Knowledge of MS Office Programs.
+ Geotechnical Engineering background and experience strongly preferred.
+ Experience with related software such as GeoStudio and gINT.
+ Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license within the first six months of employment.
+ Security Clearance a bonus.
