Wade Trim is seeking a Resident Engineer for construction management of a multi-million dollar, multi-year remote CSO Retention Treatment Basin facility. The project involves an underground treatment facility. Future projects may include technical planning, design and construction support.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering and five to ten years of progressive experience in heavy civil engineering design and construction. The ability to read construction plans and understand various aspects of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, process, and electrical/instrumentation design is a must. Strong technical, construction management, communication and computer skills are required. Candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera and construction document management software is a plus. Typical responsibilities include:
Assist Construction Manager and Project Manager with construction administration management, including review and response to construction related information and documentation
Attend and potentially lead construction meetings with Contractor, Owner, and other stakeholders
Coordinate reviews of Contractor Shop Drawings submittals, RFIs, Substitution Requests with Construction Manager, Project Manager, and various design disciplines
Perform and document field observation of construction progress, and provide supervision of Resident Inspectors, and coordinate with material and special inspection teams on site
Assist Construction Manager and Project Manager with Contract Change documentation preparation and review
Document design changes and communications
Conduct on-site inspections as needed
Review plans and specifications
Assist Project Managers
Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
Assist with business development/sales activities and maintain excellent client relations
Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
Maintain a safe working environment
