We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan, prepare, and execute aerospace materials, mechanisms, and structures testing. This is a hands on position operating in a laboratory environment that supports the development of complex systems for use in human / robotic space exploration, navigation, communications, national security and other aerospace related systems.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
  • You will coordinate and interface directly with customers and other team members to assist with the various stages of the product development cycle for aerospace materials, mechanisms, and structures.
  • You will provide solutions to difficult engineering issues, either independently or in a team environment.
  • You must be a self-starter, have a willingness to become an expert in mechanical testing and aerospace-related mechanisms development, and be committed to continuous process improvement.
Typical Experience:
  • Bachelors degree with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • General mechanical / electrical aptitude that will be applied to component level mechanism testing including mechanical / electrical test solution design (CREO preferred), analysis, and test execution.
  • Familiarity with servo hydraulic / electro-mechanical systems including load frames and instrumentation / data acquisition.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Have the ability to become a Certified Test Conductor.
Desired Skills:
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related professional experience.
  • Working knowledge with CREO, Labview, environmental testing (thermal and thermal vacuum), dynamics, thermodynamics, test automation, dynamometers, etc.
  • Established track record demonstrating the ability to manage multiple development programs simultaneously.
