We are at the forefront of breakthrough technology development and demonstration programs in multiple areas, including hypersonics, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, propulsion, aircraft and space systems. We are currently seeking talented, enthusiastic, and dynamic individuals to support DARPA in formulating, coordinating, monitoring, and transitioning advanced research and development programs to the U.S. military.

CENTRA Technology, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Aerospace Engineer to support cutting-edge hypersonic aerospace system technology development. Efforts include conducting trade studies, performance analysis, evaluating designs, and supporting test and evaluation. Candidates will work closely with the United States’ preeminent hypersonic system experts throughout the government, academic and industrial research and development communities. Applicants must be technically strong and possess superior project management and oral and written communications skills. Candidates should be self-starters capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The ability to lead a team, multi-task and work at a fast pace is a must. Travel to support design reviews, ground and flight test campaigns, and meetings to support the nation’s hypersonic enterprise is required.

Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET Clearance is absolutely required.

Technical and management responsibilities include:
Providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise in monitoring the execution of advanced technology development and demonstration programs
Performing independent technical assessments and feasibility analyses of system designs and new technologies
Planning, monitoring, and reporting on test activities
Initiating and monitoring contracts that contribute to program oversight and independent analysis
Supporting technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Performing oversight of program activity and scheduled milestones to ensure adequate progress
Identifying and implementing new program concepts
Providing program management and acquisition support
Authoring and presenting program plans, status briefings and technical reports
Quickly identifying and resolving program execution issues

Desired Qualifications:
Experience in advanced, high-speed air-vehicle and/or missile design and performance analysis to include flight mechanics, aerodynamics, aerothermal dynamics, high-temperature materials, heat-transfer, and/or wind-tunnel testing.
Experience in ground test and evaluation: developing test plans, verifying test readiness, supporting test execution and analyzing test results; familiarity with government and industry ground test facilities.
Experience with computational fluid dynamics, instrumentation, or flight experiments
Experience in leading technical activities within multi-disciplinary teams
Experience managing schedule, budget and program risks for fast-paced advanced technology programs
Experience in air-vehicle systems engineering, development, fabrication, and integration
Experience in defense-related technology research and/or development programs
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience is required.
A Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience is desired.
