Reporting directly to the Mill Maintenance General Foreman.
What you will do:
Operate and maintain all steam plant equipment and systems
Maintain all heating, cooling and ventilation systems for surface operations
Maintain compressed air, mill water and potable water systems
Lead major incident investigations in relation to the steam plant systems or processes
Liaise with plant chemical supplier technical representatives and management for both boiler water and waste water testing
Act as a liaison between management and the workforce to keep Operations Manager informed
Recruit, hire, and train the necessary personnel to staff of the department to the forecasted level of operation
What you will bring:
Decision making skills
Strong supervisory skills
Good understanding of all the process equipment in the area of process water, compressed air, refrigeration, ventilation, water treatment for the boilers, heating and cooling
Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
Possession of a valid First Class 1 Power Engineer Certificate required
7 years of progressive experience in a plant operation environment with exposure to production, maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, and administration
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience for a steam plant or equivalent ticketed trade
