We are a culturally diverse company with 70 employees representing more than ten countries. Ruland has sales and marketing offices in Berlin, Germany and Shanghai, China to support Ruland exports to local customers in these markets. Our internal teams consist of operations/manufacturing, marketing, sales, customer service, engineering, and accounting working together to exceed customer expectations. We contribute to our community through our donation of time and parts to the FIRST Robotics Competition. Our vision is to be a 100-year-old successfully run family business.
Ruland Manufacturing is looking for an ambitious Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This position will focus on making incremental improvements throughout the factory floor, designing and developing new products, and interacting directly with customers. To be successful the ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, be able to implement simplistic solutions to complex problems, have a customer first mindset, and understand operations. The Mechanical Engineer must fit into a company culture that requires high personal integrity, the ability to work with limited oversight, cooperation between departments, and self-motivation.

Ruland engineers are always looking to design and develop new products. The Mechanical Engineer must be comfortable working with sales and marketing to understand customer needs and new product viability. They must have knowledge of operations to implement manufacturing processes that allow Ruland to make parts efficiently, cost effectively, and with industry leading performance. Depending on the nature of the product the Mechanical Engineer may be required to provide technical support to customers through email or over the phone.
Ruland uses a variety of software to assist engineers in completing work to a high standard and on time. Experience with SolidWorks is required for the Mechanical Engineer to perform their job effectively and integrate into Ruland’s fast moving engineering department. All customer facing and internal drawings are controlled in SolidWorks. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for creating and building new parts numbers within Ruland’ ERP, Macola.
