Your Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented Back-End Software Developer to join our IBM Systems team. You need to have a passion for learning, willing to be challenged and excited about new technologies.
Job Duties:
As a Back-End Software Developer, you will review Product Requirement Documents and functional specs to create and document development plans. You will also be responsible for recommending new requirements and design options, to resolve existing and new issues. Additionally, you will define, develop and execute new features per design criteria and coding standards. Your focus will be on end-users and goals all through the development process. As a Software Developer, you will work closely with product management and stakeholders to ensure applications meet and exceed expectation requirements. As an IBMer you will be expected to adhere to the highest levels of technical discipline and excellence to set a standard for the larger development organization.
About the Team
You will join a talented team of Software Engineers that deliver Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) features and functions across IBM System Storage products.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
3+ years of hands-on development experience in C/C++
3+ years of hands-on development experience in Python
Responsible, organized and detail-oriented
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong debugging skills
Experience with Linux
Experience with virtualization / containers
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Good Understanding of RESTful API
1+ years experience with Linux CLI/Shell script.
1+ years experience with Linux Administration
This position will work out of the Austin or Houston, TX office
