Position Overview

As a member of the PLM Engineering team, the Designer, PLM is responsible for various design activities associated with existing product lines. This role is responsible for the on-going improvement and maintenance of existing product lines, either created internally or acquired.

Responsibilities

Manage product life cycle of existing disposable product lines
Assist in the collection and documentation of user’s requirements, development plans, time estimates and resource management
Works with management and development teams to establish best practices
Aid in test strategies, test design and protocols, execute testing and write technical reports
Design, implement and deliver product changes to support sales, marketing, production and service
Maintain Design History Files for disposable product lines
Identify obstacles, meet deadlines
Aid in creation of Product and Development Documentation in compliance with Laborie QMS, ISO, and other standards
Travel when required
Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, or relative work experience
5+ years’ experience in engineering
Advanced skills with Solidworks and other CAD tools
Experience working in a regulated industry with user/patient safety is preferred (medical, automotive, aerospace, etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and associated applications (example: catheter manufacturing)
Understanding of FDA’s QSR (CFR 820) preferred
Highly organized with well-developed time-management skills and processes for managing multiple priorities.
Highly developed analytical and quantitative skills
A meticulous working style including the ability to focus on details while holding the end-goal in clear sight
Strong technical writing capability and excellent oral communication skills
Motivated self-starter with an ability to determine when to act and when to ask for support
