We are looking for a Chemical or Mechanical Process Engineer to join the Specialty Chemicals manufacturing team in Rochester, NY. We are seeking an individual to become an equipment and process expert in support of batch chemical manufacturing areas that include specialty organic chemicals, polymers, inks and dispersions operations. All facilities are located within Eastman Business Park.

Job Responsibilities to include:
Become process and equipment expert in specific areas of specialty chemicals manufacturing.
Provide technical support for operations, product chemists, EHS, and maintenance.
Willing to work hands-on, closely with maintenance staff to identify and develop equipment reliability improvements.
Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to identify root cause, then provide recommendations and implement preventive measures.
Implement process and equipment upgrades towards continuous improvement efforts and to support new business initiatives.
Equipment upgrade responsibilities from project inception and design through construction and commissioning.
Multi-disciplined engineering support, including process controls.
Understand health, safety and environmental regulations and apply to equipment to assure personnel and plant safety. Participation in process safety reviews.

Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Effective communications skills
Ability to interact on teams that include operators, mechanics, chemists, management, other engineers and staff
Able to work independently
Willingness to learn
Willingness to work hands on as needed
Able to lead and participate on project teams
Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Office
Understanding of process controls
