POSITION SUMMARY: The Materials Development Engineer selects, develops, plans, and implements necessary materials for a new product line and supports optimizations and revisions for existing materials and existing product lines. This position serves as an individual contributor and as a project manager and technical resource to other employees across the worldwide organization. The individual will be expected to provide solutions to Operations and products as part of an innovation program, as well as having the ability to learn in added capacities as future business directions determine. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below. - Selecting or developing materials in conjunction with process development for new product lines. - Executes decision making to solve complex problems involving extensive research, analysis and evaluation of multiple variables. - Contributes ideas and analysis of the potential programs to provide added value to Operations. - Provides on-going support for any previously implemented projects or programs. - Provides technical information for process and tool engineering for the Operations and R&D group. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: -BS Degree; preferable in Material Science -Minimum of 5 years of specific applicable engineering experience -Experience with structured problem solving concepts -Familiar with common polymer composite resins: epoxies and polyurethanes -Experience with thermoplastic and TPV materials -Experience with composite fiber reinforcements: fiberglass, carbon and aramid -Experience with composite fabrication and processing -Experience with composite design software is a plus -Experience with rubber and thermoplastic extrusion process is a plus -Experience with rubber compounding and processing is a plus
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills

Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts as they related to manufacturing operations and market assessments
