The City of West Sacramento is seeking energetic, qualified individuals for the position of Junior/Assistant/Associate Civil Engineer.
An official City of West Sacramento application form must be filled out, in its entirety. It is the applicant's responsibility to explain his/her qualifications fully and clearly. In addition, applicants must submit a resume and complete the required supplemental questionnaire. Depending upon the number of qualified candidates, an oral panel interview may or may not be held, date to be determined if held. The top candidates will be referred to the Director of Public Works for further consideration.
Examples Of Essential Duties: Junior Engineer: $62,544.00 - $76,200.00 Annually plus a 3% increase 7/1/2020!
Assistant Engineer: $73,200.00 - $89,160.00 Annually plus a 3% increase 7/1/2020!
Associate Civil Engineer: $90,084.00 - $109,752.00 Annually plus a 3% increase 7/1/2020!
Typical Qualifications: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge and skill. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be:
Education: Junior/Assistant/Associate Civil Engineer: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Junior Engineer: Prior experience is not required. Assistant Engineer: Comparable to two (2) years of experience as a Junior Engineer. Associate Civil Engineer: At least four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience. Public works/municipal engineering experience is highly desirable.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: Junior Engineer: Valid certificate of Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) preferred. Assistant Engineer: Valid certificate as an Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) required. Associate Civil Engineer: Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a professional civil engineer. Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a professional civil engineer in the State of California within one (1) year of appointment. If assigned duties require driving, possession and maintenance of a valid California driver's license.
