As the Data Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for building test plans, developing testing strategy, write test cases and create automation to ensure the reliability and quality of data. You will be responsible for evaluating large datasets and proactively identify opportunities for continuous data improvement. This role will work closely with HBO MAX Business and collaborate with DTC Engineering team based in Seattle.
Build and execute end to end QA efforts including the development of test planning, test strategy, test cases, and automation to ensure delivery of reliable and quality data.
Evaluate large datasets, address and resolve reconcilable discrepancies through daily data analysis; and proactively identify opportunities for continuous data improvement.
Enhance and document new processes and procedures for investigating and tracking data quality issues, by analyzing quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status.
Develop and maintain communication between various stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5+ experience in managing and improving Quality systems, QA Project lifecycle; test plan, test strategy, test scenarios, test cases, and traceability matrix.
Deep understanding in data relations, data manipulation, data distribution/ interfacing methods & technologies including flat versus structured data methods.
Expert knowledge of quality functions like cleansing, standardization, parsing, deduplication, mapping, hierarchy management, etc.
Knowledge of data warehousing tools such as DynamoDB, SQL, Snowflake, as well as AWS Cloud platform tools.
Deep understanding of the video streaming industry and be a champion for our consumers.
Awareness of agile QA software development life cycle.
Experience and knowledge with various Business Intelligence reporting tools (Looker, Tableau) a plus
Excellent communication, collaboration skills across a variety of teams, highly detail-oriented, strong problem solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment and continue to raise the bar on quality.
Results-oriented with initiative to work until the job is complete.
Experience in entertainment or with direct to consumer streaming apps highly desired.
Have a deep passion for television, movies, entertainment and technology is a big PLUS.
