As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will leverage your creative design and development expertise to develop innovative solutions for the application of space systems technologies. You will work in small collaborative groups through all stages of the launch vehicle and spacecraft design, including conceptual flight computer and ground support control system architecture, preliminary design, detailed design, fabrication and test procedure writing and liaison manufacturing and test support. You will have full ownership of your project from the initial concept through all phases of the design, analysis, manufacturing, and final integration of your module(s) and systems through Launch and on-orbit support.
End-to-end hardware design including:
Schematic capture, analysis and testing
PCB layout, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization
Design review and presentation
Board bring-up and initialization
Development of test plans and qualification procedures
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)
Minimum of 3 years of industry Digital circuit and system design and development is required.
Skilled in schematic capture and high-speed digital circuit PCB layout.
Competent at end-to-end definition, requirement generation, block-diagram design, component selection and evaluation.
MS/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Experienced in design, development and implementation of single-board computer systems
Knowledge of design and development of control systems such as those used in robotics and guidance and navigation
Understanding of low-level firmware and software, including Linux Kernel drivers and peripheral control on embedded microcontrollers
Experience working on products for the aerospace or automotive market
Experience with Altium schematic and PCB software
Familiarity with signal integrity analysis tools
Fluency in C/C++ as they apply to embedded systems including Linux and Real-Time Operating Systems
