As a Rail Bridge Engineer, you will be involved on a range of small to large projects which are both rail industry and high-profile public. The role will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development. You will be required to work autonomously within a growing team carrying out rail bridge feasibility works, inspection, design, and assessment and strengthening depending upon project requirements.
Preparation of preliminary and detailed design calculations under the supervision of senior engineers;
Preparation of technical, inspection and assessment reports;
Participate in the Preparation of project specifications and other contract documents;
Preparation of detailed design calculations and analysis for concrete and steel structures using SAP2000 or other structural design software;
Coordination of structural work with work of other disciplines.
Civil or Structural Engineering Degree from an accredited university;
6 -10 years of experience in the design of rail bridges or similar field;
Experienced with the Canadian Highway Bridge Code S6 and AREMA (an asset);
Professional Engineer certification, or eligible for license in Quebec (other provinces an asset);
Demonstrated experience in the area of rail bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm or railroad;
Knowledge with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or STAAD;
Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation of existing bridge; steel and concrete structures;
Familiar with relevant agency/regulatory approval processes as pertaining to bridge engineering;
Demonstrated ability in meeting project deliverables and requirements;
Work independently and interact well with other staff, and mentor junior staff;
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity;
Bilingual (French & English).
