The Performance Modeling and Analysis Department (PMAD) focuses on the modeling, analysis, and optimization of orbits, satellite access, and system performance at all levels for space architectures. We develop sensor models and system visualizations; perform system and architecture performance assessments; and perform orbital coverage, geolocation, and communications analyses. We develop and maintain special-purpose software to support our analyses. PMAD software developers apply object-oriented and parallel processing techniques to our software to leverage the corporation’s high-performance computing resources. We are looking for a Decision Support Analyst to:
Perform optimization using evolutionary computing and multi-criterion decision-making techniques, and assess overall performance through the use of in-house or custom-developed analysis tools.
Provide technical expertise in the areas of space system architecture modeling and coverage analysis. Develop and generate system performance metrics as necessary.
Compare the performance of architecture variants and conduct trade studies.
Create, modify, and maintain computer code resident on corporate computing resources as needed.
Work with senior analysts as part of larger study teams.
Develop and present analytical results using Python, MS Office, and other tools.
Interact with program office and customer organizations.
Graduate degree in aerospace engineering, operations research, or related field of science, engineering, or mathematics with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA based on a 4.0 scale.
Dependability, good interpersonal skills, and skills in documentation and presentation of results.
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Familiarity with orbital mechanics and mathematics related to satellite access geometry.
Prior experience in system analysis and simulation.
Background in one of the following areas: optimization and/or decision support, operations research, decision analysis, architecture performance analysis and modeling, software and/or simulation development.
Technically adept with the use and maintenance of PC or Unix platforms and associated software.
Experience developing analysis tools using C/C++ and Python.
