Exciting career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join Centuria's team of 55 scientists, meteorologists, engineers and IT experts to provide infrastructure engineering design, development, implementation, production, installation, and integration support to the National Weather Service (NWS) Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Radar Operations Center (ROC) in support of nearly 200 Doppler weather radars and wind profiler radars that provide critical tornado and severe weather warning observations across the Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Azores, and Korea. The team is involved in every phase of the hardware and software lifecycle across business and technical applications. They also provide facility support, program management, and quality assurance. This contract involves customer touch points within NWS, Department of Transportation, and the Air Force.
This position supports the Configuration Management Team in the Program Branch located at the ROC in Norman, Oklahoma.
B.S Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Electro-Mechanical drafting experience is desired. An Associated Degree with extensive Mechanical Drafting/Design experience is also acceptable. Degrees in other disciplines may be substituted depending on other qualifications, such as length and type of specialized experience.
4+ years experience with computer aided design software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks system.
4+ years experience in increasing complexity in data or hardware and/or software configuration management.
Experience with creation, control, and revision of Bill of Materials structure.
Must have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings a must.
Specialized knowledge of radar systems and related equipment a PLUS.
Knowledge of industry best practices, Military standards, CMMII related to data/configuration highly desired.
Working knowledge with establishing and maintaining baselines, change control [ECPs, change boards], conducing configuration audits, status accounting and reviews [PCR, CDR, SRR, TRR] is highly desired.
Experience working with Product Life Cycle Management tools such as Agile Advantage and Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS is desired.
