Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to enhance welding of stainless tubular products.
Conducts research and development investigations to test new processes and procedures and improve existing methods and equipment.
Prepares technical reports and analyzes data as a result of research and development investigations.
Researches and evaluates new developments in welding field for application to current issues and processes.
Performs experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques and materials.
Required Education and Skills
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Metalurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred 1-3 years’ experience.
Excellent organization and planning skills with the ability to plan over a 6-12month time span.
Able to manage multiple projects at one time.
Must be creative, inquisitive, analytical, and detail oriented with a mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engeering principles.
Ability to apply engineering and technical knowledge sufficient to render original and ingenious advice or service and make judgments involving engineering problems.
