Position Summary
The Operations Manager for Powertrain Testing at Ilmor Engineering operates our Engine Quality and Testing Lab. As the leader of this team, your will be a key driver of our commitment to delivering world-class engines to our marine and racing customers. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader skilled in project management, preventative maintenance best practices, combustion air / air exchange systems and new equipment commissioning.
Essential Job Functions
Continuous Improvement:
Strategize and implement controls to improve testing processes
Collaborate with multiple race engine program engineers to coordinate on test outcomes, equipment and strategy
Implement sustainable preventative maintenance programs and see through to completion
Strategic:
Responsible for developing and implementing long-term strategic improvement plans, including capital expenditure plan, equipment upgrades & relocation, productivity improvements, safety initiatives and managing department growth
Prepare and maintain department budget
Operational:
Provide leadership and direction to 3-4 Dynamometer Department Technicians, ensuring cross-training and demonstrating commitment to employee development
Monitor department consumables (e.g. fuel, oil, etc.) and collaborate with purchasing team to maintain inventory
Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and assembly teams to schedule and optimize the workload
Ensure reliability and up-time of dynamometer equipment through preventative maintenance
Ensure world-class appearance, cleanliness and organization of the dynamometer department

Qualifications
Passion for racing & motorsports
Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in a related technical field
3+ years experience managing direct reports
3+ years experience executing preventative maintenance strategies, facilities experience
2+ years experience leading projects that involve capital expenditures and laboratory/facility upgrades
