Opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team.

Diamond Mowers is seeking a qualified Project Engineer- Weld and Metallurgy Emphasis to enhance focus on welding techniques, procedures and applications as well as materials selection to our engineering team. As our Project Engineer, you will ensure new designs meet the needs of manufacturing, sales, dealers, and end users for all Diamond products. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring designs stay within the constraints of cost, materials, and manufacturing capabilities and to expand and improve our product offerings.

Ensure new designs meet the needs of manufacturing, sales, dealers, and end users for all Diamond products.

Manage multiple aspects of new product projects including reliability testing and adequately communicates progress to management.

Ensure existing product is consistently revisited and improved based on cost, durability, function, quality, performance, reliability, service ability, and user features.

Apply engineering principles to solve complicated problems.

Ensure efficiency and safety are improved throughout production and manufacturing.

Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing supervision to decrease cost or improve the product or manufacturing process.

Provide manufacturing support as the technical expert/advisor, problem diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Ensure quality is supported by collecting and analyzing data to improve process and quality robustness to include weld quality specification, diagnostics and evaluations.

Manage weld root cause investigations and equipment troubleshooting.

BS Metallurgical Engineering, Weld Engineering or equivalent experience with BS Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering (Machine Design Emphasis)

10+ years prior machine design experience with an emphasis on welding and metallurgy

Strong knowledge in welding techniques, procedures and application

Background in metallurgy, material analysis and material selection

3-D modeling experience with familiarity with Autodesk Inventor preferred

A strong background in equipment product design with a focus on equipment reliability.

Software knowledge: MS Office, CAD
