Position Description

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

Develop solutions and improvements for metallurgical components, processes, and manufacturing systems
Serve as the technical advisor toe Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and suppliers for product and process issues for various teams
Support metal injection molding operations
Develop and implement design and process improvements and monitoring effectiveness
Design, investigate and develop new components, materials, manufacturing processes, fixtures, and equipment
Identify critical areas in the product or process and develop and update FMEA documents
Lead and contribute to different projects across functional groups and guide involved team to achieve set goals
Interface with machine and toll shops for design and fabrication of new tooling
Lead department research for suppliers, equipment, tooling and other materials
Supporting Engineering, Manufacturing and R&D activities as well as new product launches
Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
3-5 years of experience with Metal Injection Molding
Minimum 3 years of SolidWorks experience
In-depth understanding of metallurgical properties and composition as well as related heat treatment processes especially as they relate to MIM
Ability to set up and optimize sintering programs for MIM components
Experience using analytical techniques for troubleshooting MIM processes and components
Experience with FMEA
Strong understanding of mechanical concepts: advanced manufacturing processes (MIM, heat treating, surface engineering & finishing, CNC Milling, grinding), mechanical and material stress analysis, designing for manufacturability, advanced 3D design work (preferably in SolidWorks), thermodynamics
Stung understanding of materials concepts
Ability to apply the understanding of materials and mechanical engineering concepts
Awareness of industry standards and process tests for quality inspections
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, positive attitude, highly self-motivated, organization skills and team player
Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:
Experience in manufacturing processes of machining, heat-treating, stamping, laser welding, laser marking, coatings, welding, plating, polishing, passivation, and subassembly that involves stainless steels and high-temperature alloys
Experience in medical devices, aerospace or automotive manufacturing
Experience training others in areas of expertise
