Your Opportunity

As an Environmental Engineer in our Water Business your role is to work with general supervision and direction on a range of small to large scale water and wastewater projects, under the guidance of a project manager and/or senior engineer/designer. You will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, specification, installation, commissioning and start-up for engineered systems or products for a project verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices.

You could be located in any one of our offices in Downtown Toronto, Stoney Creek, Waterloo, London or Windsor and would have the opportunity to work on projects across the GTA and southwestern Ontario.

Your Key Responsibilities

Responsible for water/wastewater tasks of average complexity/size.
Coordinates with other professionals on assigned projects and contacts clients about progress reports and proposals
Provides project coordination duties in a Team environment on a daily basis to ensure the execution and delivery of projects.
Responsible for preparing Technical Memos, reports and cost estimates.
Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer civil/environmental works for a project and assuring work is reviewed for overall technical accuracy.
Aids with preparing preliminary drawings, sketches and notes for projects, as well as reviewing drawings, providing redlines and preparing plans for submittal.
Prepare and revise documentation.
Support the preparation and coordination of project specifications and related documents.
Participate in quality assurance and quality control on projects.
May attend construction sites and meetings.
Assisting in resolution of technical issues on construction sites.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Ability to manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
Thorough understanding of civil/environmental concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. Experience with 3D design preferred.

Education and Experience

Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Eligibility for C.E.T or P. Eng. Designation
Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.
Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work. Field work will include exposure to the elements including inclement weather, hazardous locations, confined space entry, working from heights, and walking rugged terrain.
