Role Summary:
The Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:
Develop test strategies to maximize Validation Team potential and efficiency. Drive execution of manual and automated testing to provide evidence of completed Test Plan. Drive execution of manual and automated testing to provide evidence of requirements coverage and traceability. Define, manage, and commit to all testing cost estimates and schedule in the proposal process. Investigate and thoroughly communicate software defects. Hold design reviews for test planning and reporting. Maintain broad awareness of automation efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, accurate execution, and appropriate use of resources. Work with global teams to define global standards and achieve local goal.

Desired Characteristics:
Strong knowledge of validation test execution, requirements traceability, defect reporting, and automation concepts.
Experience creating automated applications using NI-LabVIEW
Experience creating automation test scripts using NI-Test Stand
Demonstrated initiative, drive, leadership, communication, & interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Experience in controls and software processes for Freight Rail applications
Experience with Agile development principles

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of IT, engineering, scientific or other technical experience)
