Bourgault Industries is looking for an Engineer or Technologist to join the Manufacturing Technology and Equipment Engineering team (MTEE). This team is responsible for providing engineering support for any piece of manufacturing equipment that changes the fit, form or function of a production part (sellable to the farmer) and to maximize the output of the equipment. As well as to investigate new manufacturing technologies in the industry. Equipment we support include but not limited to; Lasers, Plasma Cutting, Press, Saws, CNC Machining, Robotic & Manual Welding, Automation and Liquid & Powder Coating equipment.

Responsibilities:
Provide technical support of manufacturing equipment for Production including programming when required
Development and documentation of standard work instructions for manufacturing equipment
Gauge performance of manufacturing equipment, eliminate waste and suggest/implement changes as required
Conduct time studies to develop base times or evaluate different processes
Development of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) on new and key pieces of equipment
Work with the Maintenance team on trouble-shooting equipment problems
Work with equipment vendors to get external technical support and sourcing of replacement parts in a timely manner
Design equipment or tooling to improve safety, quality, and productivity or cost issues for the areas
Implement changes to products due to manufacturing improvements or design changes
Investigate, select, justify and lead installs of new equipment
Actively participate in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Investigate new technologies to assist production be more efficient as well as other areas of the company

Qualifications:
Engineering degree or technologist diploma with a mechanical or industrial focus
Strong Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering background
Knowledge of and interest in current manufacturing technology
Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
Ability to think critically and analytically
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or within a team
Strong computer skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail
Experience with Solidworks or similar CAD software
Understanding of lean methodology and continuous improvements methods
