We seek an M.S. graduate in Mechanical Engineering to join our team in the Engineering Mechanics and Infrastructure (EMI) group. EMI applies engineering mechanics, materials science, numerical simulation, innovative technologies, and collective expertise to solve our clients’ toughest problems in an inspiring work environment that nurtures life-long learning and growth. We provide significant advancement opportunities commensurate with performance. The successful candidate may work on projects related to buildings, bridges, pipelines and tanks, rail vehicles, rotating equipment, precision observatory structures, and other non-building structures and systems.
Perform stress, fracture, and heat transfer analyses of mechanical components and systems under supervision.
Evaluate design of mechanical components and systems under supervision.
Perform linear and nonlinear finite element analyses under supervision, using programs such as Abaqus and ANSYS.
Assist in preparation of reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally, and in writing.
Have proficient computer skills.
Conduct engineering calculations, using software such as Matlab and Mathcad.
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or similar fields with emphasis on engineering mechanics.
Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) registration within five years.
Ability to travel.
Ability to perform field inspection of structures and infrastructures under supervision.
Valid driver’s license.
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report, if applicable.
