Position Title: Program Controller / Specialty Program Manager
Reports To: Director Program Management
Status: Regular Full-time
Location: Auburn Hills
The Program Controller is responsible for project success with respect to budget, and process discipline. This position will aide in the execution of the product portfolio in a manner which allows leadership to assess the financial status of each program. This includes maintaining project BoM costs, financial status and targets, investment analysis, and resource analysis. The program controller will coordinate activities within the following organizations: Engineering, Manufacturing , Production, Validation, Finance, Quality, Sales, Marketing and Purchasing. The position will also require program management skills in regard to specialized projects within the organization.
Set up financial workbooks for each program and align monthly meetings for feedback and financial updates.
Develop strategies to keep costs in alignment which includes both project based as well as BoM based initiatives.
Coordinate target setting of financials with leadership and align team to meeting those targets.
Follow the product development plan (PDP) and implement cost procedures which adhere to the overall Gate review process.
Align financial forecasts and updates with the finance office for approval and updates.
Develop and review business case financial forecasts.
Develop product cost calculations: IRR PBY NPV ROI, product P & L, and depreciation
Support sales in pricing forecast for projects
Develop and maintain the resource analysis tool used for financial forecast and program requirements.
Must have advanced excel skills.
Program Management background and skill set with knowledge of product development plans in compliance with APQP
Bachelor of Finance (B.S in Mechanical or Electrical accepted with relevant experience) .
Minimum 3 years of experience leading projects through complete product development cycles including launch. PMI certification strongly desired.
Minimum 4 years working as a program controller on technical based projects. Working knowledge of project based financial analytics.
Working knowledge of APQP and PPAP disciplines. Knowledge of PMBoK or sufficient training.
Experience in electric vehicle programs and battery design and/or integration is strongly preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Project, Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lists, Power BI, Tasks and SharePoint.
