Job Details

Manage all plant assets, responsible for controlling, tracking and reporting spending of the capital budget and the maintenance budget. May also function as a project manager for smaller capital projects.
Manages the implementation of new equipment and/or the modifications to existing to improve plant efficiency and performance yields.
Responsible for the development and support of new/existing production equipment, tooling, cost reductions, continual improvement programs and supporting documentation necessary to manufacture and deliver high quality products to our customers on time.
Actively search for ideas and ways to reduce expenses and improve quality without compromising superior products.
Continually analyze current manufacturing methods. Recommend and implement improvements to those methods by means of improving existing equipment and/or installation of new equipment.
Analysis and report to leadership the ROI for new equipment purchases
Work closely with Continuous Improvement group, manage ad design all facilities to lean manufacturing methodology to improve manufacturing methods
Design, build and present plans such as new equipment, facility layout, LEAN initiatives to Senior Leadership
Performs and/or directs manufacturing engineering function to include building fixtures and dies.
Assign and coordinate project operations in his/her areas to ensure project schedules and objectives are met
Ensure that acceptable quality levels are maintained
Maintain safe working conditions in his/her area and promote safety awareness among direct reports
Ensure that TCF policies, procedures and guidelines are followed
Manage direct reports and their activities. This includes evaluation and discipline; overall performance management; training and development; analyzing and resolving work problems; lead team to achieve goals; effective communication, etc.

Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Engineering
5+ years’ experience as a maintenance mechanic with working knowledge of mechanical and electrical applications
2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing setting
Proficient in Autocad, Solidworks or similar program
Strong project management experience
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including an ability to partner with internal departments and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
Experience with computer software; word processing, and spreadsheets
Effective communications skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)

Standard office environment
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach
Ability to work extended hours sitting at a computer

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the plant environment is usually loud.
