POWER Engineers is currently seeking an entry level Civil Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our San Diego, California office.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of civil design for substations including permitting, sitework, structural and foundation design.
Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and jurisdictional requirements.
Support of substation physical design and equipment layout.
Drafting design markups using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Occasional travel will be required.
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an ABET accredited university.
Minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA).
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design and surveying.
GPA of 3.0 or above.
Engineer In Training (EIT/FE) registration is preferred.
Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil engineering or construction, is desirable.
