Architectural Designer

The Designer position in the Architecture Department is responsible for assisting with the design and detail drawing packages for various project types. Working with an in-house interdisciplinary team, our designers are in charge of creating, developing and documenting building packages for clients in the commercial and industrial sectors. The Architecture department leads in the development of projects from preliminary through detailed construction documents. Working with our clients, the team provides expertise in designing new facilities, developing new ways of using existing buildings, and providing design options as projects progress.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in programming efforts with client and gathers necessary field data
  • Leads interdisciplinary coordination efforts to ensure project objectives are being met
  • Assists in developing designs and details
  • Prepares and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. using Revit
  • Continues to develop and improve the quality of design and documentation within the firm while taking leadership in related efforts
  • Assists in preparing material take-offs for estimating efforts as required
  • Participates in Construction administration support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’sDegree in Design Studies, Architectural Design, or a related field of study
  • 8+years post graduate experience
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Strong knowledge of generalbuilding systems, functions and design
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques,materials, methods and industry standards
  • Good presentation and decision-makingskills
  • Proficient at setting prioritiesand managing multiple tasks
  • Good written and oral communicationskills
  • Positive conflict resolution skills
