Pentair currently has an opening for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Delavan, WI location. In this role, the Lean Manufacturing Engineer will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes at site. This Lean Manufacturing Engineer will utilize project management skills to implement new operational processes and equipment, as well as assist the business unit in meeting its strategic goals. The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will lead and support kaizen events, Lean work cell design, standard product design revisions, cost improvement projects, capital expenditure projects and supply chain initiatives.

Act as a lean liaison for Ops and manufacturing engineering for cell design, standard work, line balancing, etc.
Support the Delavan site in material flow initiatives.
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to reduce cost and improve quality.
Be responsible for assisting in the execution of SQDCC goals.
Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Develop complete project plans including resources, costs, benefits and schedules.
Assume full responsibility for all aspects of projects to ensure goals are met on time.
Communicate project status to stakeholders as appropriate and follow up to ensure project results are sustained.
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts.
Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
Work as part of a cross-functional group to implement lean principles.
Lead and facilitate lean activities as needed.
Prepare, maintain and assist manufacturing documentation (PFEP’s, Optimizers, etc.) for new and existing products in manufacturing.
Prepare documentation using Excel, CAD packages, Word, and digital photography.
Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Apply problem solving techniques to resolve both customer and internal quality issues for manufactured products.
Work to create and maintain a safe work environment.
Have earned at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management.
Have experience driving improvements in a manufacturing environment supporting machining, molding, material flow and/or assembly.
Have proficiency in Word, Excel.
Have the ability to analyze situations and problems.
Use sound judgment and fact-based problem solving.
Clearly express oneself orally and in writing.
Be able to effectively negotiate when necessary.
Have the ability to develop systems and processes.
Have a capacity for learning with a drive for results.
Have adaptability to change and ambiguity.
Be able to persist in the face of difficulties.
We like, but don’t require:
Experience with light fabrication.
Experience in an ERP system such as JDE or SAP.
