Job Responsibilities
Fastener Engineer Responsibilities
- Work with Design Engineers on Design for manufacturability of the bolted joints and specification of tooling to secure all joints.
- Obtain fasteners, drawings, and samples as required
- Perform upfront analysis of bolted joint systems to optimize robustness and minimize costly redesigns.
- Work with test technician on test parameters and analyze any data from each joint test - Recommend torque for production assembly
- Commonization where possible
- Report all issues regarding fasteners to management
- Work with suppliers for improvements, new technology
- Provide continuous improvement of processes by supporting line walks, best in class serviceability, assembly time reduction, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Facilitates mechanical joint/fastener reviews to discover opportunities for consistency, complexity and cost control
- Ability to work longer hours if required to meet deadlines and/or resolve issues
Education
- BS/MS Degree in Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related field
Experience
- 5+ years of Fastener Engineering experience w/automotive OEM or supplier preferred
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Tooling preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office and plant floor environment, meet critical deadlines with an eye for accuracy and attention to detail Knowledge
- Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (including powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, & interiors) & relative components and fasteners ideal
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools (MS-Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Work Remotely
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
