Quandel Consultants is an engineering firm specializing in planning and designing passenger, commuter and freight rail projects. We are currently working on multiple rail projects in various phases of development, including planning, environmental clearance, preliminary design, final design, and construction. We are seeking civil engineers and structural engineers with 5-15 years of experience for project management and civil/structural engineering positions in our Chicago, IL; St. Charles, IL; Grand Rapids, MI; and Ann Arbor, MI offices.
Job Duties: Under the direction of the company principals and our public and private sector clients, the candidate will be responsible for the planning, design and construction oversight of railroad corridor improvements.
Specific job duties may include:
Providing overall project management, project delivery and client satisfaction
Leading and/or supporting a team of engineers in the development of concept, preliminary, and final designs and contract bid documents for rail and railroad bridge improvement projects
Writing technical reports to support the engineering decision-making process
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Minimum five years of experience
Prior experience with transportation facilities design or public infrastructure projects
Structural Engineers shall have prior experience in railroad bridge inspection, load rating and design.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good people, relationship and networking skills
Helpful Skills and Experience:
Professional Engineer’s License preferred
Experience with CAD software such as ARCGIS, Autocad, Bentley Microstation or Geopak
