TheR&D Engineer IIis responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, theR&D Engineer IIwill use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.
Performs complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design, and solver research inimplementing parallel CFD algorithms in AnsysCFD solvers
Develops algorithms suitable for modern parallel/HPC computationplatforms
Develops and maintains solver infrastructure for parallel/HPCcomputations
Employs programming models for optimizing performance of algorithms onGPGPUs
Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews andmentoring
Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.Researchesproblems discovered by QA or product support anddevelopssolutions
Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and developsolutions
Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoringresponsibilities
May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have directreports
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field with2 years' experience or MS
Working experience with C/C++
Experience with CFD solver development
Experience with parallel and/or GPGPU programming
Passion for crafting robust and efficientcode
Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software developmentenvironment
Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in thisdomain
Strong communication skills in written and spokenEnglish
Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributedteam
