BMT is seeking a Project Engineer to support Navy operational logistics and energy clients in Bethesda, MD.

The successful applicant will have 4-8 years of experience providing US government ship programmatic support and engineering evaluations. Candidate should have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must work both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary project team.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and minimum 4 years’ experience working with US government ship programs is required. Strong preference to candidates with experience supporting Navy program offices and/or research and development programs.
U.S DOD secret clearance required
Strong analytical experience conducting independent research and analyzing shipboard technologies is required
Experience providing programmatic and technical guidance required
Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: application of engineering principles/standards to ship operations; identification, development, and transition of equipment and systems to the Fleet; development of test plans and technical reports; and development of work packages (e.g., drawings, data sheets, calculations)
Familiarity with one or more areas of operational logistics preferred (but not required) including: Advanced Replenishment Systems, Shipboard Materiel Transport, Standardized Packaging and Interfaces, Asset Visibility and Planning, Shipboard Energy Conservation, Ship Concepts, and Logistics Architecture
Strong analytical, technical writing and presentation skills that result in the delivery of high quality products and services is required
Ability to complete tasks individually as well as collaborate with other team members
Strong listening, oral and written communication skills with ability to quickly and successfully integrate with a multidisciplinary team, establish successful working relationships with group managers, technical staff, technicians, subcontractors and other stake-holders and develop an open and collaborative work environment to influence and achieve positive outcomes
Advance MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills to create and deliver high quality technical reports and presentations required
Dependable, confident, action oriented, self-starter with a sense of integrity and actively contributes to building and expanding consultancy services
