Role: Design Engineer-CAD Specialist

Role and Responsibilities
Summary of Role
The Design Engineer/CAD Specialist (“DE”) will produce technical drawings and provide engineering support to the organization. This role is focused on maintaining successful technical communication between our engineering team, vendors, clients and various installation teams. The DE will also maintain and further develop internal CAD specifications.
Responsibilities of Role
As a vital Member of the Engineering Team, it is important that the DE be fluent in the following tasks:
Prepare accurate and complete drawing packages utilizing customer and SilMan specifications.
Assist in delivering effective documentation with regards to customer satisfaction, schedule, time & budget.
Communicate with other team members effectively.
Understand and contribute to the process of submitting shop drawings to the level of detail required for fabrication.
Determine the extent of individual project responsibility and time. Manage personal deadlines to ensure that project milestones/deliverables are on time and on budget.
Must adhere to established long term drawing storage and organization processes for all drawings created.
This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, plotters, etc. This role will also have direct contact with internal team members, vendors, customers and partners across the U.S.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
No travel is expected for this position.
Lead by Example. This Team Member will show independent initiative and drive to ensure any/all requested support activities have been completed.
AutoCAD Design Experience, 5 years minimum
AutoDesk Inventor Experience Preferred
SolidWorks Experience Preferred
Construction background Preferred
Working knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Excel & Word
Strong Communication & Organizational Skills
Experience in various mechanical designs & Industry Standards
Required Continuing Education and Improvement
Training will be continuous as opportunities present themselves. Offsite training could also be utilized as available. The ability to interact on a professional manner is imperative to this role’s success.
