AFSS is looking for an engineer with a background (senior-level, 10-20 years of related experience) in spacecraft observatory systems, to support engineering services contracts at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer that has familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering processes.
This candidate will assist with the planning, execution, and closure of requirements in the Observatory Requirements Document. Candidate should have a firm understanding of satellite systems as well as NASA requirements and Verification and Validation (V&V) processes. Candidate should also have strong background and understanding of spacecraft observatory systems.

B.A. or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
Experience with NASA's systems engineering processes.
10+ years of experience working with NASA requirements for spacecraft, including requirements development, tracing, V&V, and closeout.
10+ years of experience with spacecraft systems.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
Ability to obtain National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) personal background check.
US Citizenship is required.
M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
Experience and understanding with satellite subsystems.
Risk management experience.
