Start your engineering career with the Naval Nuclear Laboratory! We have an exciting entry level opportunity in the Site Mechanical Systems Engineering (SMSE) group. This unit is responsible for maintaining various mechanical systems in support of the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) population and mission. SMSE is seeking a maintenance engineer to support the maintenance of the site water systems (i.e., drinking water and storm/sanitary sewer).

support site steam/condensate and HVAC systems
perform engineering evaluations and analyses
work with the system engineers to evaluate system health and provide input on current maintenance strategies - prioritize near-term repairs
execute life-cycle management plans to keep the systems healthy and reliable
work with various organizations, such as NRF craft and oversight personnel, to ensure work is properly engineered
planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, and testing of components, systems, equipment and facilities
evaluations, design reviews, operations support, safety analysis, and analysis of procedures and systems for quality control
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university required.
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of relevant experience
