Position Title: Battery Lifetime Analyst
Reports To: Cell Modeling and Characterization Manager
Classification: Exempt
Status: Regular Full-time
Location: XALT Technology Park

Job Summary:
The Battery Lifetime Analyst is a member within the cell R&D team that is responsible for researching and simulating the lifetime of Lithium ion battery energy storage systems for a variety of applications. Working with other members of the cell R&D team, the Battery Lifetime Analyst is responsible for analyzing electrified applications, application field data, experimental lifetime data, and degradation models, to estimate the longevity and durability of energy storage systems. The Battery Lifetime Analyst is also expected to study and analyze performance metrics and operating conditions for a variety of markets and applications where XALT products are installed.

Primary Responsibilities:
Estimate battery lifetime for a variety of different applications and markets using lifetime models, statistical analysis, and other methods
Perform warranty analysis for XALT products in customer applications
Analyze battery reliability and durability with varying operating conditions
Assist in development of lifetime models and cell testing experiments
Acquire, process, and analyze field data to determine battery and cell performance from beginning to end of life conditions
Assist in creating and supporting documentation of XALT products for its internal use and its customers
Document and present findings and results from lifetime and warranty analysis
Support Sales and Application Engineering teams in sizing systems and defining system architecture

Position Qualifications:
Advanced degree, PhD preferred, in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
Experience in advanced data analysis and processing
Competency in advanced numerical and statistical methods
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Very strong analytical skills
Ability to work independently
Basic understanding of lithium ion batteries and energy storage systems
Experience and knowledge of Matlab/Simulink is strongly preferred
