I. Job Description:
The Lead Processor will provide molding support to multiple plants and serve as the SME to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and control processes of plastic injection mold machines. The processor will have a deep understanding of
Scientific Injection Molding, the ability to optimize the injection molding process and train operators.
II. Required Skills:
- Knowledge of mold design/function, E-dart setup, molding machine operation, process optimization and RJG
- Statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), Six Sigma, and IQMS or an ERP platform
- Knowledge and application of scientific molding principals; ability to run hot runner and stack molds
- Understanding of Mold Fill optimization to include understanding in-mold rheology of plastics
- Effective technical decision maker and communicator including master root cause aptitude
- Applies and maintains lean manufacturing initiatives and tools (i.e. 5-S, Continuous Improvement, SMED)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills; able to document all processes
- Support a team culture; care about getting it right and lead/coach/train operators in scientific molding
- Competent in problem solving, diagnosing problems, and executing repairs or replacement
III. Essential Functions:
- Responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process including, but not limited to, set-up and tear down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, workflow, and documentation to specification
- Uses ROC40 system to assist in process issues that impacts company's ability to meet customer commitment
- Maintains a process log and dispositions production runs for each shift
- Troubleshoot all molding and assembly processes
- Drives process improvements, i.e. set-up time reduction, scrap reduction, and increased throughputs
- Authorizes full production once setup is complete and first piece approvals are validated
- Executes process control checks to ensure the molding method is compliant to standards
- Substitutes team lead or tool maintenance technician and performs other related duties as assigned
- Work with production personnel to ensure products meet requirements and adjust as needed
IV. Performance Criteria:
- Accountability and ownership of metrics including scrap rate, downtime, on-time delivery, and machine utilization
- Document in detail, molding process using scientific methodologies, mold set up, work cell layout, and troubleshooting information for each job that is validated
- Perform setup, startup, diagnosis and troubleshooting of the injection molding machines
- Implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and affect greater utilization of labor and materials
- Enhances the technical development of the processes
- Maintain production, quality, and on-time schedules
V. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years in a plastics manufacturing environment
- RJG Master Molder or equivalent injection molding experience
- Experience working with Demag, Engel, and Arburg injection molding machines or 50 to 700 tonnage range
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and random drug testing
- Must sign a confidentiality/non-compete agreement
- Capable of standing/walking for entire shift and must have visual and auditory capability in an industrial setting
- US Citizenship is required, and must be English fluent in reading and writing
- Physically able to bend, squat, twist, climb, reach and lift 50 pounds without assistance
- Must have a valid driver’s license; limited travel may be required rev a DATE: 10/22/2020

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
