The CAD Designer will report directly to the Drafting Supervisor and is responsible for preparing shop drawings and bills of material for building products.
Prepares shop drawings for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings including metal wall/roof cladding, architectural wall/roof panels, and floor/roof decking. Which are based on drafting standards and templates.
Prepares bills of material and other documentation required for manufacturing.
Ensures compliance with approved design standards and engineering principles.
Clearly communicates and collaborates with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and peers.
Experience in drafting buildings.
Post-Secondary education in Civil or Architectural technology.
High proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
Attention to detail as well as an ability to analyze and solve technical problems.
Sense of urgency towards meeting deadlines.
Specialized courses in drafting, design, building science, and/or engineering practices are considered an asset.
